4 x Tulip Chairs by Rudi Bonzanini and Calligaris Round Table

Designed by Eero Saarinen for Parker Knoll in the 1957, these chairs were produced under license by Rudi Bonzanini in Italy in the 1960's. This set of 4 original Italian Tulip chairs was purchased new in 1968, and remained the same family ownershio ever since.

Plastic swivel action seats on aluminium bases with original mid blue cushions - the chairs are well used and show marks, chips to the paintwork and repairs to the seat pad covers, and loose stitching on the ends of the zips underneath - but they still look good and function as they should. Replacement pads and covers are available online quite reasonably.

The chairs are paired with a more modern Italian Calligaris 120cm round white table, with plastic coated wooden top on a metal base.

The top has two small areas of cracking (around the size of a 10p piece) above two of the screw holes where these have been over-tightened from underneath, and the top is also slightly yellowed from sunlight.

Chairs are available without the table - but the chairs are where the value is in this set - so the chairs would be £460 + eBays 'buyer protection' fees.

Top unscrews from base for transport and removals etc.
